    ABOUT THE OUTFIT GENERATOR

    How it works

How does the outfit generator decide what I should wear?

You pick an occasion, your weather and a mood. The studio matches them to a written outfit formula: which shapes to combine, a three-colour palette and the reason it works. There are 64 combinations, all written by our editors as rules. It doesn't produce AI images or ask for a photo.

    Does it use my location?

No. You choose the weather yourself, because one country can have many climates. Choosing a country or region only changes the inspiration references shown.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It's free, and you don't need an account. Saved looks stay in your browser. You can share a look with a link or download it as a checklist.

My invitation has a dress code. Which setting should I use?

For smart casual or business casual, choose Work & meetings. For cocktail or semi-formal, choose Dinner & a little occasion. Our dress code guide explains each code from casual to white tie, and our cocktail attire guide goes deeper on the most-asked one.

Where do the celebrity and screen references come from?

Each reference links to its published source. Our Screen Style Index uses search data to show which screen wardrobes people keep returning to. See our editorial standards.
